DEVOTIONALS

IS THERE A GOOD EXCUSE FOR NOT BELIEVING IN THE EXISTENCE OF GOD?

BIBLE PASSAGE:
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, his
eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being
understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
(Romans 1:20)

MEDITATION:
Have you ever thought about what it will be like when you meet Jesus
face to face? What do you think you might want to say to Him? Do you
think you would even be able to speak? How would you respond if He
mentioned how you failed to get to know Him?
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will
enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one
who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did
we not prophesy in your name and in your name
drive out demons and in your name perform many
miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never
knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
      (Matthew 7:21-23)

What if Jesus exposed you for never believing in Him and His Father?
What excuses would you give? According to the scriptures, we have
NO excuse! Evidence of His existence is all around us every day of
our lives.

If we try to rationalize God, we will fail. There are mysteries about
God that we will never understand in this life. How can we as small,
and finite beings with limited time and space, ever understand the
magnitude of an infinite God?

Who can explain why objects are always attracted to the center of
the earth? Who can even come close to explaining the law of gravity?
Even the one who is credited with discovering gravity (Newton) could
not explain it.

Who can explain the miracle of reproduction? Scientists can explain
basically what happens, but they cannot explain the ‘why’. Why is the
sperm attracted to the egg?

Many of these ‘unexplainables’ can only be explained in one way – God
is in control. All of the mysteries of life are proof of the existence of God.
God cannot be contained in a scientific lab or confined to some algebraic
formula.
Think about it:
If God could be fully proven by the human mind, then He
would no longer be greater than a mind that proves Him.
He is greater than the human mind can conceive or explain.

ACTION:
Questions to consider:
    – Do I know (really know) God, or do I just know about Him?
    – Do I have a relationship and close fellowship with Him?
    – Do I communicate with God often?
    – Do I know the spiritual gift God has given me,
and if so, how am I using it to serve Him?
    – Does God know (really know) me to the degree
that I won’t hear Him say, “I never knew you”?
    – What changes do I need to make so I will know God better?

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, I see evidence of Your existence all around me.
Even though I cannot comprehend the magnitude of Your greatness,
I realize that You exist and You are in control. Since I believe in Your
existence, I want to build my relationship with You and enjoy a daily
fellowship with You as an important part of my life. Help me to feel
Your presence in the quietness of my heart. I know that when I am
fellowshipping with You, I will experience a joy and peace that I have
never known. Thank You for creating me, loving me, blessing me,
guiding me, disciplining me, and wanting to fellowship with me. Show
me how I can encourage others to believe in and know You too.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
