DEVOTIONALS

HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE BLESSINGS FROM GOD’S GRACE?

SCRIPTURE:
But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.
(Ephesians 4:7)

MEDITATION:
Grace is described as “the free and unmerited favor of God,
as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.”
We receive grace through the salvation that God gives us,
but did you catch the second part of the description?
Grace is also the ‘bestowal of blessings’.
God’s grace includes giving us His blessings
as He chooses to apportion them to each one of His children.

The Christian life is never spoken of in the Bible as a bed of roses.
It is an uphill challenge, because society is going one way
and the Christian is going the opposite direction.
But Jesus said that in the midst of our problems,
in the midst of our difficulties, He will be there to give us grace and peace.

Those who had an encounter with Jesus when He
was on earth in human form, went on their way rejoicing.
Jesus was their tranquilizer.
However today people look for all kinds of ways to steady themselves.
When we leave Jesus out of our lives, we miss out on the blessings He
has for us and consequently, we cannot go on our way rejoicing.
He can straighten out our life and put us back on center.

ACTION:
Are you missing out on the blessings from the Lord’s grace?
Are you having trouble rejoicing as you go your way?
Could it be that you have missed (or forgotten)
your encounter with the Lord?

Take time out of your busyness
and reacquaint yourself with Him and His goodness.
He spent time for you on the cross as an expression of His grace.
Shouldn’t you spend time for Him as an expression of your appreciation?

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unmitigated grace to me.
I am in awe of what You did in order for me to receive Your salvation
and blessings. Forgive me if I have drifted away from You. You are
always the same and never move, so if there is a wider gap in our
relationship, I am the one who moved. Help me to allocate more time
in my schedule for You. If I have to sacrifice some of my free time,
remind me of the ultimate sacrifice You made for me. I need Your
calmness and strength in order to deal with the many trials I face in
my life. By faith I reach out to You to receive Your blessings of peace
and joy.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
