BIBLE PASSAGE:
In a loud voice they sang: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor
and glory and praise!”
(Revelation 5:12)
MEDITATION:
How do you feel about celebrations? Does it lift your spirits
when you attend one? It could be a celebration of a marriage,
the birth of a baby, a birthday party, a retirement party, a
promotion recognition, receiving a college degree, a high
school graduation, or any number of other things.
Some people enjoy attending celebrations for other people,
but would rather avoid them if the celebration is for them.
They are not comfortable being the center of attention. But
there are others who can’t wait to be ‘on stage’ and relish
the attention they receive.
At any rate, there is a great celebration planned in Heaven
for all believers in Christ. It is going to be an event like no
one has ever seen or experienced on earth. Those who were
in bad health and couldn’t participate in celebrations during
the last years of their lives, will be completely healthy again.
There will be thousands upon thousands in attendance at this
extravaganza!
Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels,
numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten
thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the
throne and the living creatures and the elders.
(Revelation 5:11)
Of course, the celebration will be for God’s Son, Jesus Christ. At
long last we will be able to sing praises, in person, to the One we
worshipped during the short (when compared to eternity) lifespan
we were given.
We will praise the only One who is worthy to receive power and
wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise.
What a great time it will be for all who have openly declared
that Jesus is their Savior. The crowd will include all of those
who have served Him faithfully and have heard Him say,
“Well done good and faithful servant!”
“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful
servant! You have been faithful with a few things;
I will put you in charge of many things. Come
and share your master’s happiness!’
(Matthew 25:21)
As exciting as this sounds, this is just one of many exciting
times believers will experience for all of eternity. But there
are many who will not be a part of this celebration, because
they chose to reject the gift of salvation from the Lord.
ACTION:
Does the anticipation of this celebration create excitement in you?
Have you responded to God’s RSVP by receiving His free gift of
salvation? How have you changed your life to prove to God your
faith is real (and prove it to others and yourself as well)?
Will the Lord look at how you have lived for Him and say,
“Well done good and faithful servant”?
Today is the day to decide to receive His free gift and become
an adopted member of His family. It means you have chosen
to turn from ALL ungodly habits and focus on how you can
serve the One who died for you.
But encourage one another daily, as long
as it is called “Today,” so that none of you
may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
(Hebrews 3:13)
If you are not going to be able to attend the heavenly celebration,
you can change that by making Jesus the Lord of your life…‘TODAY’.
Pray,
“Heavenly Father, I look forward to the great celebration in
Heaven! Thank You for Your free gift of salvation that makes
it possible for me to participate. Show me today what You want
me to do to serve You. I want to hear you say to me, “Well done
good and faithful servant”. Teach me how to interact with others
in a manner that is a reflection of You. Help me to point others to
You by the faith they see in me. In adoration I worship You, my
Savior and my Lord, whom I love!”
