DEVOTIONALS

WHERE TO PRAY?

“But when you pray, go into your room,
close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen.
Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret,
will reward you openly.”
Matthew 6:6

What did our Lord mean when He said, “Go into your room to pray?”
(some translations say “Enter into your closet”).
The word “room” or “closet” simply means somewhere that you
can shut the door on the world and open the windows to heaven.
When you study the life of Jesus,
you see that Jesus sought times to be alone to pray.
Sometimes He would go on a mountain, sometimes into the wilderness,
and sometimes into a garden.
He made a secret place His sacred place.
The measure of your prayer life is not how well you pray in public,
but in how consistent you pray in private.

When you enter your “place” to pray, spend some time in silence.
Clear your mind and listen for His Words
of instructions, encouragement, and direction.

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
