UNEXPECTED ANSWERS TO PRAYERS

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine,
according to his power that is at work within us”
Ephesians 3:20

Did you notice the words ‘immeasurably more’?
They are linked to the phrase ‘his power that is at work within us’.
When we unleash His power within us, we can expect more than we pray for.
How do we unleash this power as believers?
We give the Holy Spirit control of our mind, actions and words.
We know how we react to certain situations,
but we choose to allow the Holy Spirit to intervene and give us new reactions.
Think about carrying a coffee cup.
Others may not be able to see what is in the cup.
But when the cup is bumped, they see what spills out.
Do they see our ‘natural’ reactions
or do they see a reaction controlled by the Holy Spirit?
Sometimes we wonder why our prayers are not answered.
If we are in control of our thoughts,
we can become discouraged and allow worry to invade our thoughts.
However, if we allow the Holy Spirit to control our thoughts,
as we await answers to our prayers, it can be a time of anticipation.
An anticipation of the Lord ‘doing immeasurably more than we ask, or imagine’.
When this happens, we can sense the Holy Spirit becoming active in our lives.

Are you going through a time where you are asking, “Where is God?”
As best you can, give control of your thoughts to the Holy Spirit.
Allow Him to change your question into anticipation.
Then start preparing yourself for seeing answers to your prayers
in greater measure than you asked them.
