What is salvation?
It’s not a creed, code, club or organization.
You might say,
“Well, I believe the plan of salvation.”
You can believe the plan of salvation and go straight to hell.
You can believe that water is good for you,
but you don’t know until you experience it for yourself.
Salvation is a blessing you first believe,
but then you have to experience.
You’re not saved by the plan of salvation;
you’re saved by experiencing the Man of salvation.
You may say,
“Well, I believe if you live right, you’ll go to heaven.”
If you could be saved by living right then Calvary was a mistake.
Living right would replace all of God’s plan for salvation.
Some say,
“I’m a member of a good, fundamental, Bible-believing church.”
If belonging to a church meant salvation,
how would you know if you belonged to the correct one?
It’s not any of these things….It’s Christ.
Salvation is not believing something; it is receiving Someone.
Faith is believing AND experiencing God’s plan of salvation.
It is also believing that the blood of Christ covers our sins
so that God will view us as righteous.
“Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds
because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you
by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight,
without blemish and free from accusation.”
Colossians 1:21-22.
If you have believed AND experienced God’s plan of salvation,
then be prepared to share your faith with someone.
God will provide opportunities so we need to be prepared.
Sharing our faith does not have to be something lengthy and profound;
it can be simply telling someone how your faith has changed your life.
You were living one way with certain habits, attitudes and goals,
but when you experienced salvation, you developed new habits, attitudes and goals.
