BIBLE PASSAGE:
“He said to them, “Go into all the world
and preach the gospel to all creation.”
(Mark 16:15)
MEDITATION:
If we had to identify the major misconception about believers today,
it would be that we spend too much time getting out of trouble with
God and not enough time getting into righteousness! We are living
on the defensive instead of the offensive.
We need to move beyond the defensive line of Christianity and
move over to the offense (advancing the Kingdom, fulfilling the
Great Commission, and telling others about Jesus). Our Shepherd
will never lead us where His strength cannot keep us. He will never
lead us down a path that He hasn’t first walked down Himself.
ACTION:
Are you sharing His love and words of salvation with someone who’s
lost? If not, then make preparations to share when the opportunity
arises. How? By reading God’s Word and praying frequently. Also
think about what you would say if someone asked you,
“Why do you believe in God?”
We all have testimonies of how we have felt His presence.
God is with us in so many ways.
He brings healing when we are ill.
He comforts us when we are hurting.
He guides us when we are unsure of what we should do.
He inspires us to tithe and serve Him.
He provides for us when we are out of work
(He also provides new jobs for us).
He encourages us when things seem impossible.
He loves on us when others seem to desert us.
He hears our prayers,
and answers them in His way and on His timing.
The list can go on and on. Think about some of these and/or
other instances when you have felt His presence, and be ready
to share it with others when asked about your faith. We all
have a story to tell.
I have a post on my blog titled, Testimony Of Thankfulness.
If you are wondering about your own testimony, this may give
you some ideas. To view it, go to my blog and enter the title in
the Search field. It is by no means comprehensive, but it does
highlight some of the areas where God has been involved in
my own life.
Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for not only giving me
Your awesome gift of salvation, but for also giving me
a testimony to share with others. Help me to remember
how You have blessed me in so many ways, and help
me in being prepared to share with others whenever I
have opportunities. Forgive me for any times I have
hidden my faith from others. Help me to be bold and
thankful in the future. You have been so good to me,
You have loved me when I was unlovable, You have
blessed me when I don’t deserve your blessings, You
have forgiven me when I have had problems forgiving
myself, and You have given me a spiritual gift that I
can use in serving You and pointing others toward
Jesus. Help me to use my spiritual gift and to not take
it for granted and leave it on a shelf to collect dust.”
